Once used to press apples, this beautifully restored barn blends rustic charm with modern comfort. Step outside to sweeping views of the Welsh hills and walking trails right from the doorstep. Whether you're hiking local peaks, exploring with the dog, or relaxing in the garden with a glass of wine, nature is always close by.

A Closer Look
Living Space
The impressive double-height living room features striking oak A-frame beams and underfloor heating to keep things cosy year-round. This warm, welcoming space includes three comfortable sofas, a Smart TV, a log burner, and a peaceful reading nook. A Juliette balcony opens up to scenic countryside and mountain views.
Walk through to the kitchen, passing the utility room with an iron, washing machine and tumble dryer. The large, open-plan kitchen features a double range cooker, American-style fridge freezer, and a central island—ideal for sociable cooking and prep space. There’s also a small TV for entertainment while you cook. Next door is the dining room, offering a large table with plenty of space for everyone to gather and enjoy meals together.
Bedrooms
The master bedroom is set apart up its own private staircase—a spacious king-size room with an en-suite bathroom and generous storage.
Two further king-size bedrooms are located up a separate staircase, each with an en-suite bathroom and access to their own shared reading room—perfect for a quiet moment away from the main living space.
Downstairs, you'll find two more king-size bedrooms that share a modern shower bathroom.
There’s also a separate hallway area with an additional pull-out bed—ideal if you need extra space for guests.
OUTDOORS
Step outside to a private, enclosed garden with a patio and outdoor furniture—ideal for dining, BBQs, relaxing, or just soaking up the stunning countryside views, including a glimpse at Sugar Loaf mountain.
Next to the garden, a large paddock offers plenty of space for dog walking, outdoor games, or a peaceful stroll. A public footpath runs through the paddock, leading directly to the beautiful Bryn Arw mountain.
Our brand-new hot tub offers a cozy spot to unwind while taking in the superb panoramic scenery.
Situated on the foothills of the Bryn Arw and Sugar Loaf mountain, the barn is in walking distance to both public footpaths. It is perfectly located for exploring the picturesque Brecon Beacons National Park or relaxing in the beautiful countryside with scenic views of the Sugar Loaf mountain.
Close by to Abergavenny town centre, only a 10 minute drive away and the lovely Crickhowell is 20 minutes in the opposite direction.
Check in / outCheck-in is 4pm. If you are arriving early, have a look at our Things To Do page. We've listed lots of things you can do around the area while you’re waiting to check in.
Check-out is 10am.
Children & PetsIf you are travelling with little ones, we have lots of extras such as high chairs, cutlery and plate sets, a bottom stair gate and a travel cot, to save you bringing them from home. Just let us know what you need. There is plenty of things to do with kids near by and we are happy to provide recommendations.
Two well behaved dogs are allowed and we just ask for you to keep your furry friends downstairs. There are plenty of mountain walks and public footpaths to walk your dogs as well as the paddock next to Old Cider Mill that has the Brwn aw footpath that you are also welcome to use.
EntertainmentRelax with the Smart TV in the living room, dive into one of the books from our small collection, or gather around the dining table for a selection of classic board games. With so many nearby attractions and activities to explore, don’t forget to check out our Things to Do page for local recommendations.
Walks on your doorstepJust a five-minute walk from the barn, turn right out of the drive and take the next left to reach The Fro Car Park, the starting point for the popular Sugar Loaf mountain walk. Expect stunning scenery, grazing sheep, wild horses, and an incredible 360-degree view from the summit.
For those up for more of a challenge, a public footpath from the paddock leads to Bryn Arw mountain. It’s a steep and adventurous climb, but you can go at your own pace—walk as far as you like and head back the same way. Even a short stroll offers lovely views and a peaceful escape into nature.
